Vocabulary Words (from Prentice Hall Mathematics Algebra I Textbook Sections 2.1-2.4)

Equivalent Equations - Equations that have the same solution (or solutions).
Identity - An equation that is true for every value of the variable.
Inverse Operations - operations that undo one another. Addition and subraction are inverse operations.
Solution of Equation - The value (or values) of the variable that make the equation true.
